St. Paddy's Day Parade

Took the girls to the St. Patrick's Day Parade, the northwest side version.  In true Irish fashion, lots of green, lots of alcohol, lots of begging in the streets!  I have to admit, I'm not much of a parade fan, so I was a little on the reluctant side, but the weather was so great, I was happy just to be out in the warmth!  It ended up being a great time, we all had fun!

We forgot our beer, but the folks in the background did not!

Swimming Lessons

We signed Keegan and Regina up for swimming lessons earlier in January...they are doing great, and loving the experience.  They should be ready for the summer swim season in no time!

We've Been Busy

It has been a VERY long time since I've posted--things have been a bit over the top for us. Lots to report though, so I will try to break down the major events in separate posts.

Below are a few shots from early June when we went to the 57th Street Art Fair in Hyde Park. Keegan is very focused on our wedding and with every church we pass, she always asks, "Is this the church you got married at"? So, we decided to introduce the girls to Rockefeller Chapel.

Merry Merry!

Merry Christmas 2010! We started off this holiday season at the Magnificent Mile Lights Parade. It was C-R-O-W-D-E-D beyond words. Once the parade actually started, we lasted about 30 minutes, gave up and went back to our hotel room for dinner. Keegan and Regina had fun at our hotel, and shopping downtown.

Christmas celebrations were very fun too! Keegan and Regina received so many wonderful presents--we are still trying to get them all opened and played with!

What's New Around the Duggan House?

Happy New Year! So much going on around our house this month, it seems like we have been going non-stop since Christmas season. The kitchen is coming along, we now have walls, a subfloor, new electricity and plumbing in place, and the bones of a breakfast bar built. Ryan thinks the cabinets will be ready to go in within the next few weeks. He is smack dab in the middle of wrestling season right now, so it's pretty impressive we've gotten this far.

Keegan and Regina have both hit super growth spurts! Keegan is starting to speak regularly in complete sentences and her vocabulary is expanding by leaps and bounds each day. She wants to know the word for everything these days. Our favorite saying of hers is "What happened?" She will use it appropriately when someone starts to cry, shouts "ouch", or the like. I nearly poked my eye out on our kitchen chair the other night bending over to tie my shoe, so of course I made a startled shout. Keegan ran over very concerned, and said "Mommy, what happened?. It's really cute! The picture of her is choosing shoes for the day--she already has a fascination with shoes, and it takes us about five minutes each morning to settle on just the right pair!

Regina's seventh month was a huge milestone month for her. She learned to crawl, said mamamama and dadadada for the first time, can pull herself up to standing, is starting to get very upset when you walk away from her, is feeding herself star puffs, and is starting to "dance" when she hears music or rhythmic tones. My favorite thing she does now (although she has been doing this for quite some time) is give kisses--she loves to grab your face, lean in, and plant a big open-mouthed wet one right on your lips! She is definitely a baby that likes to cuddle and be cuddled! For the past few weeks the girls have been pretty sick with colds and runny noses. The picture of Regina is from when she fell asleep in her chair during a lunch feeding. Complete with snoring too!

Finally, we are working on another project of sorts! It's a BIG one, and going to require lots of our love and attention. Hope to be finished with it in May!!!!

Taking care of a few small projects

No big remodeling project going on at the moment, so we're taking care of a few small things. One being the window seat cushion for our bedroom. We used some instructions found here and what do you know, it worked! A 1.5 hour stint in Jo-Ann's Fabrics trying to find all the supplies, 3 hours of measuring and cutting the materials, and 3 hours of sewing, and voila, a custom seat cushion. A second little project was to get Regina's name on her and Keegan's bedroom door. It's a good thing they share a 'g' in the middle of their names.

Flip Mino HD

Ryan received a Flip Mino HD for his B-day from the girls, so I guess this means you will be seeing more video here...Lucky You!  I've also replaced the super-compressed, low-res, Blogger version with my vimeo version.  not showing the real HD, but way better than Blogger.

Keegan LOVES Regina!

Keegan is convinced we brought Regina home just for her--she loves her sister!
